Step 1 in our 6 step process is an initial phone call, where one of our Interior Designers and Project Managers will ask you a few simple questions in order to get to know you and your jobs requirements a little better.
This briefing session helps us to understand what you’re trying to achieve, your budget, timeline and any other needs. The Brief provides a clear ‘plan of attack’ to achieve the best possible outcome individual to you and your job.
Armed with this information, we will put together a detailed and tailored design proposal for your approval before proceeding with the design implementation. Depending on the scope of work, the design proposal will include the following items:
Mood boards: The mood boards consist of everything you envisage for your design project, based on our conversation during the initial consultation. We will present to you suggested colours, fabrics, flooring, lighting and furnishing themes, giving you a preview into the overall look of the finished project..
Finishes Schedules – All finishes, fixtures and features selection for proposed works: We will compile a finishes schedule for each of the rooms required for your renovation. This will include our suggestions on flooring, lighting, fixtures, appliances, tapware, tiles etc for each room within your renovation, with prices included for each item.
Production of 2D/3D drawings: We will draw up 2D floorplans and 3D elevations with your chosen fixtures and finishes included from the proposed finishes schedule discussed earlier. These finishes and fittings will be rendered into your 3D plans, and you will be given a digital copy for each room. Each room will have dimensions and measurements relevant to the room’s fittings and fixtures. In addition, we can also supply drawings of the following:
2D electrical plans for any new appliances or lighting installations, ready for an electrician to work from.
2D and 3D drawings of cabinetry/joining designs ready for any cabinet maker to price and construct from.
Once we have all the relevant detail, one of our designers will compile a design fee proposal unique to you, this details all the inclusions in our Concept Packages that are suitable to your job, these can be detailed 2D and 3D drawings relevant to the construction phase such as floor plans, fixtures and fittings. Depending on the scope of work involved, it may also include 2D electrical plans for any new appliances or lighting installations and 2D/3D drawings of cabinetry or joinery designs, including items such as vanities, walk in robes and kitchen design.
Once we have your approval to move forward with the design process the next stage is our personalised in home consultation.
An in-home or on site personal consultation is step 2 in our 6 step process. During this meeting with one of our Interior Designers we will discuss in further detail the scope of your project, your goals and your budget. If required, we will obtain the most up-to-date set of plans for your space from you for us to draw upon. All decision-makers need to be at this meeting and you can expect it to typically last between 1 and 3 hours.
We will cover the following during this initial consultation:
The scope of your project in detail, including all areas involved in the project, each spaces’ desired function, and your ideas and goals for each space.
Our Designers will measure your spaces for the planning and design stage.
Your tastes, preferences, likes, dislikes and personal style.
Material and finishes selection. We will provide images to look through, samples of stone, flooring, tiles and anything else that is relevant to your specific brief but you are always welcome to bring inspiring images of your own as well.
Establishing a realistic budget and timeline for your space.
Once we have completed the Initial Consultation, it is time for our Interior Designers to get to work.
Depending on the inclusions specific to your design fee proposal, our designs will start planning and drawing up your spaces, filling in any furnishing, fittings and materials that were discussed during your consultation for your approval.
This is where you will receive finishes schedules, detailed plans, rendered drawings, electrical plans, furnishing advise and anything else that was included within your design proposal.
